I'll stick to the Holo-Kellhus theory.  Like, it feels really weird that we see a projected image of Shae and then a few moments later a projected image of Kellhus from some other unknown source.
  If I have to give a reason for the Consult to fuck around with the Ordeal it is that the Carapace is just spinning up, or they are busy retrieving the Scarlet Spear so nobody just spacks their new toy.  But, ultimately, like, what was the reason for the Shae illusion?  I think showing people what they expect to see while gearing up to fuck them is just plan A for these guys.

1/4 into the book (or so), and he died. Who else is saddened by this? He was my favourite character in the second trilogy.

Indeed, one of many sad moments in TUC.  Especially as it came on the heels of his reunion with Zsoronga.  It wasn't even all that shocking, really.  Just sad.

There is also the issue with the "head on a pole" - parts which warrant careful re-reading imo. I simply cant believe it that Kellhus is dead. On the other hand, maybe he has somewhat fulfilled his role: he is exposed as not really being interesting in saving the world and now he is 'dead'. Even if he were to return, what would he hope to do. Redeem himself by defeating the consult? Seems a bit contrived...

Kellhus attains godhood in the afterlife and conditions the ground for the most perfect expression of the Thousandfold Thought.  From what I read of these spoilers, nothing actually deviated from TTT as described between Moe and Kell.  Piling disaster upon disaster on the Human armies could actually be a part of TTT though I'll do a quick reread to be sure.  Kell just saw beyond it so we need a Bejunka masterstroke that changes all the moves going forward.  Attaining godhood and whitelucking a time paradox would certainly qualify.

The goddess I was thinking about was Onkis.  There was a thread somewhere here that made the compelling argument that Onkis was the God of the Darkness that Came Before.  She's the goddess of inspiration which comes before though.  She's also described eerily similar to a head on a stick.  So if Kell is a head on a stick why can't he now be a demon that orchestrated this all?

Following the naming conventions of the series, Prince of Nothing and Aspect Emperor could fittingly be concluded with "The God Before Everything" or maybe "The God Preceding All."

Just speculation though.  Far be it from me to resume I can anticipate the glorious Warrior Prophet.
