how about 1 sentence?

Santa Claus waddled up to his apartment above the toy shop, leaving the elves to finish the last minute preparations, thinking of how nice it will be to get out in the cold air, and wondering what he was going to do with Mrs Claus' corpse.

Dan opened his laptop and dropped the bill for his son's funeral on top of the stack of papers containing his wife's divorce demands, his IRS audit, and his home foreclosure notice.  "NOOO!!!" he screamed as he stared at the site on the computer's screen: Amazon page updated, The Great Ordeal due out by July 5th, 2017.

Thanks guys. I'm beginning to wonder if I lost my little archive when I switched over from desktop to laptop..

We met a man on our travels who swore to us that sometimes nowhere ain't make believe. When we finally ended up there it proved to be achingly familiar

As an undertaker, Matt Grissom will tell you that it is a myth that funeral home personnel have sex with the corpses in their care.  Really, the dead are almost never in the mood.

Lol, I was just rereading some of these and caught almost never. That's both terrifying and erotic. Necrophilia ftw :P

I thought it peculiar that the scarecrow never seemed to ward of the birds. The growing stench as I approached eschewed all curiosity

I awoke to the blackness and musty smell of another pine box.  How many times was this going to happen?

The husband, racing to the hospital, was killed by an SUV running a red light.  In the delivery room, the newborn drew his first breath, and wailed with the kind of anguish known only to the bereaved.

No matter how many times you've done it before, it never gets easier burying yourself. The time traveler's manual conveniently overlooked that chapter..

Necromancy will be done here.

The story: His wife woke him up in the middle of the night, telling him that their toddler son is crying. He wondered about how their baby, who died in a car accident last year with his older brother and mother could be crying right now...
“The thoughts of all men arise from the darkness. If you are the movement of your soul, and the cause of that movement precedes you, then how could you ever call your thoughts your own? How could you be anything other than a slave to the darkness that comes before?”

- Chronicler of the Chroniclers
