Is there any good Sranc artwork out there?

Is this all going to end up with Kellhus making some sort of time loop?

The Unholy Consult / Re: Who actually liked TUC?

This book was kicked ass.  I'm not smart enough to read between the lines in regards to whatever philosophy Bakker is spouting, but I loved every part of this book... that I still remember.  There was mass cannibalism in the first hundred some pages and I was hooked right then.  I like ridiculous high fantasy and fucked up stuff and this book had both in spades.

That being said, I was actually kind of bored with the other three books in the Aspect Emperor trilogy.  I think Bakker could have put more in them or sped them up but they were still good.  The Unholy Consult is my favorite of his books so far.

Going into TUC I was convinced that all *men* were damned.  And lo and behold, this was confirmed when Mimara looked upon Esme with TJE.  But then she saw Serwa as a Ciphrang.  So scratch that...

When did Mimara see Serwa as a Ciphrang?  I totally missed that.... I need to re-read this book.

I'm pretty happy with the way this scene turned out.  I was a little concerned that Akka would come around and see Kellhus as the truth and his savior.  The fact that he's still a dick after all these years sits well with me.

Has anybody ever made any shirts related to the Second Apocalypse?  Or anything really?  I would be very willing to straight up throw cash where I can find anything related to these series.

I remember that line but I didn't put it together.  I remember the mention of the 100th stone, but I must have missed the skin-spy tripping entirely.  I thought it was just a throw-away sentence.

The boy uses the 100th stone to trip up the skin spy who is chasing him and he escapes

Was that at the end of TGO?

The Unholy Consult / Re: [TUC Spoilers] Shauriatas
« on: August 10, 2017, 03:42:04 am »
I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get to see the real Shauriatis in all his macabre glory.  The hologram was still great and it took me a while to get it.  A lot of you guys definitely have a better grasp on these books that me and I could buy into the theory that Shauriatis and the Dunyain merged.  The use of thee word 'subsumed' means that the Consult, their ideas, and by extension Shauriatis were absorbed into a greater whole.   I'm not going to buy into any theories until I read the actual book.

I hope that TUC is not the last we get to see of Shauriatis. Whatever form he takes in the future had better be more depraved that what we've seen in the dream and the hologram.  Shaeönanra is great and I just want some weirdness.

Did he anticipate his posession?
I think it was a gradual thing that he didn't realize was happening.  That being said, I think he knew the risks.  He dabbled with the Daimos.  Kellhus probably thought himself too smart for the classic possession trick.

Did he anticipate his death
The Thousandfold Thought went dark at Golgotterath.  Knowing how much Kellhus can think ahead, he most likely considered it a possibility.  His arrogance probably made him think there was a small chance of that happening.  You know... because Kellhus is so great, right?

Did he anticipate the ressurection of the no-god via his son?
No way.  He was blind to Kelmomas the entire time I think.

Did he anticipate the arrival of mimara and drusas at golgotterah?
Oh yeah.  Kellhus saw that coming since the first trilogy.  He said that Akka would kneel the next time they met. I loved the build up to that part, by the way.

Did he anticipate moenghus reuniting with Cnaiur and assuming control of the horde?
He asked Akka if Cnaiur still lived so I think Kellhus didn't see this one coming.

Did he anticipate Cnaiurs posession?
Solid no. I don't think Kellhus thought that Cnaiur was alive.

Is it possible he knew about Sorweal and wanted kelmonas to interrupt that assasination to set other events in motion?
No again.  I think Kellhus was legit oblivious to Kelmomas and Sorweel the whole time.

I don't feel bad about Kellhus's fate in the slightest.  I thought the way Kellhus went out was hilarious and I'm glad he got salted by the things he disregarded.

Kelmomas's fate on the other hand.... it's probably not pleasant being trapped in a floating box and not knowing what you are.

The Unholy Consult / Re: [TUC Spoiler] Heron Spear?
« on: August 08, 2017, 11:08:52 pm »
Kellhus dropped it when Aurang tackled him IIRC. It's probably smashed on the base of the Upright Horn somewhere.

That's what I remember, but I also vaguely remember something about it still being attached to something when he dropped it.

Did we ever get a good description of what happened to this red Heron Spear?  I just remember Kellhus dropping it and it dangling from a chain.  Am I remembering that right?  Is is just hanging off the spearman's perch on the remains of the Canted Horn?  Were there any follow up passages about it I missed?  Or is it lost to history again?

I finally got my physical copy on the 4th.  I tore that open faster than a child opening Christmas presents.
