The Unholy Consult / Re: [TUC Spoilers] Kellhus and future stories

Didn't Sarl and the Captain tell us?  Sometimes old souls awaken behind the eyes of babes.  Sometimes men are too hard for Hell, some souls Bounce!

Though, I still think Kellhus is the Head On A Pole.  They are going to have to reenact the quest for the Heron Spear, only this time they will be looking for their Lord and Prophet's Head.

I think the guys interested in defeating the Cishaurim was the 'old Consult'.  Shauriatis and those guys.  They didn't understand the Celmonian prophecy as meaning that an Anasurimbor was necessary for Resumption.  The Dunyain figured that part out after the first trilogy.

I don't think they realized the No-God was Kelmomas until he killed Kellhus and shouted about being invisible to the Gods.

I actually feel like Aurang may have survived.  Aurax's lamentations and the offscreen way he died suggests that there may be more plot there.

I hadn't really thought about the fact that the oldest and youngest Nonmen were present together.  That's actually really cool.

No, Kellhus was possessed by Ajokli, this daemon was, I think Kakliol?  Big time Ciphrang, clearly, but not on the level of the Hundred.

His body, and Ajokli's head, if I'm guessing right.

So...let's guess at the final fate of our Lord and Prophet.

Do you think he is hanging from the statues hip in the other head?  Dead and being tortured on the outside?  Dead and become a Ciphrang?  Dead and become Ajokli?  Alive and it was a body double that got salted?  Actually inside of the No-God?

Let's hear it!

For myself, I think he is, himself, the Head On A Pole.  His spirit is tortured in the Outside, but his head is on the statue's belt, and he is not dead, so the Hundred cannot truly torture him.  I think those scenes were flash forwards to this time.

This might be another case of overestimating the Consult's intelligence.

Like, they live in the Ark and are surrounded by Sranc.  They don't have skin spies back in the past.  So if a mighty king sends out some guys to build a castle and tells everyone that it is a secret...maybe they just don't hear about it?  Like, every person in town may know, but the Consult as it was back then might not have had any spies.  Operation SEKRIT CASTLE might have succeeded just because nobody was looking.

I don't think there are geographic limits to the No-God's control.  Wasn't there a 'one vast and terrible will' quote somewhere?  There may be a limit in regards to how important the beast is though.  I think Wutteat says something about being beyond even the Black Heaven, and folks seem to think that Aurax/Aurang aren't necessarily just terminals.

Saved himself?  What do you mean?

and the anarcane ground at Artithau can surely just be overrun by Sranc without any need for sorcery.

Big question here is whether the No-God's control of the Sranc is, itself, sorcerous enough to be inactive on anarcane ground.

Worth pointing out that the No-God this time around is half Dunyain.  It took apart the whole of the Great Ordeal in an afternoon or so, which was a host far stronger than any that existed in the past.  I think the Sranc chorae relay was beyond anything the old No-God could pull off.  I wouldn't count on the fortresses and armies of the world having any shot at all.

I was meaning more that the children of the present would grow up to be useful vs. the Consult.  Like, the supply of new soldiers/magicians won't dry up for ten 15 or so years.

The big question is how on earth Earwa survives 20 more years.

Like, I want there to be a time skip, but it really seems like the obvious move for the No-God is to just roll down on the 3 Seas and kill everyone before a new generation of the Few/soldiers can be born.

I've had the 'not Akka's baby' thought a couple of times.  Imhailas seems like the obvious other possibility.
