I am, of course, excited for any findings that will come out of this, expected or otherwise. While we're at it, let's figure out how to make an artificial brains emulating simple creatures like C. elegans and D. melanogaster. Bring on the AI apocalypse!

Dreaming Seung's dreams, Meyna ;)?

Unfortunately for me, such influx will be in the US. It's likely to have the same affect as when Bush and Harper snowballed science before.

Does Seung talk about this topic, too?

Yeah, as far as I know the nervous system of C. elegans was the first - and only - connectome ever completely mapped.

Ah, that Seung! I thought T. K. Seung had something to say about neuroscience  :D

Looking at Sebastian Seung's biography [Link], I'd have to say that I am indeed rooting for him.

Lol, I'm sure T.K. has something to say about neuroscience.

Neurophilosophy (not to be confused with Neurophilosophy, which is something along the lines of TPB - though, I'd prefer if it covered both) and Neuromythology are two of my favorite pet fields.

The idea of mining all texts on soul, mind, brain, theosophy, theology, and philosophy for principles concerning brain function and experiments to prove their existence in the advent of brain imaging technologies is awe-inspiring. The history of writing is just a huge case study of the human brain and its expression across time and space after all.

I've discovered a couple great examples but I'd have to go digging.

Lol. Neurophilosophy, what I described above, is what I'd like see become incorporated into Neurophilosophy, which is already a fledgling discipline and what you see at TPB much of the time. The former tries to find clues to brain function in myth, theosophy, theology, and philosophy of the past and the latter is philosophizing about advances in neuroscience ;).
