just have to say that i love Quinthane's artistic choice of portraying so many Earwan faces with dark, shadowy eyes.  to me, it gives a sense of mortality to the characters.  a sense of helplessness in the world which fits well with Bakker's themes.

not to mention that it's brilliant on your part Q, because that darkness in the eyes is really...THE OUTSIDE LEAKING INTO THE WORLD.  wonderful artistic choice!
