Gaiman's tribute to David Bowie (http://www.neilgaiman.com/Cool_Stuff/Short_Stories/The_Return_of_the_Thin_White_Duke), written before his death.

This was pretty upsetting for me. It's weird because honestly like six months ago I wouldn't have noted it much (beyond the death of any noted musician I mean), but I've recently got a lot more into his music, even just over this past Christmas.
His last album is kind of incredible too, it completely changes knowing that he wrote it with the knowledge he could be dying soon. Incredibly powerful.
RIP to the legend.

It took me a long time to get into Bowie. I did not really like pop music in my teens and twenties, so to me Bowie was just this weird druggy dressed up pop character.
Then I got introduced to his work from the seventies(while on drugs of course) and it changed my whole outlook on music. I mean "ziggy stardust", "hunky dory" and "The man who sold the world" are absolutely amazing albums. "Hunky dory" might be my favorite album of all time.
