So it seems that catholicism education makes good fantasy writers: Tolkien, Martin, Sapkowski, Bakker... lol.

I strongly reccomend reading the classic History of the Crusades and The fall of Constantinople of sir Steven Runciman - direct or indirect influences for at least the first trilogy.

GoT is going to nowhere, for now it's a very disappointing season.

For amazon.es the date is still fucking 11/8. But I don't care now that I've already committed the mortal sin of reading TUC in kindle version.

I thought the same. Some kind of promethean fallen angel like Milton's Satan.

By the way I don't know if Bakker has catholic roots but there are other great analogies with catholicism all along the series, some of them pretty obvious.

That's possible, but maybe what Mimara saw was just a future ciphrang, one so fucking damned that in afterlife will become hunger and no fodder.
And the same goes for Serwa or Cnaiur.

The description of him cutting off his appendages reminds me of the God creating the Hundred (as per Bakker on Westeros). Wonder if they're linked. The Lions may be Ciphrang who took on the "principles" (eg fertility) and became the Hundred.

Another good point.

Are the Nonmen are other weapon race? And if it is so, a weapon against who?

Good point.

And what do you think about the grisly creation of the Nonmen?

The entry of Decapitants from the glossary appendix and the head in a pole for sure are not a simple coincidence.
But WTF is Kellhus changing his own head when he's in the mood?
Anb who the hell are the decapitants? Demons? Ajokli? Malowebis?

And finally if Kosoter was one of them he was easily killed.

Beautiful.

And weird. The creation of the Nonmen is worrying me. I always thought that they were simply a natural evolution of some kind of hominid, but now I have my doubts (and the same goes for the earwan humans).

Who/What was Imimorûl exactly? Fallen god? Demon? Protoinchoroi?
Why his obsession to not to be seen by the starving sky?
How did he make the Nonmen? Tekne?

Or maybe it's all just a nice and plain piece of mythology and nothing more.
The creation of a race from the pieces of a god/titan reminds me the norse creation, how the gods used the parts of Ymir to make the cosmos.

If not dead yet, she was dying or so she thought when went to fight the dragon.
But even the very wise cannot see all ends, lol.

Serwa could be dead, but I bet that she is going to be more "hunger" than "fodder".
Remember that Mimara saw her like a ciphrang.

Serwa was mortally wounded (according to Kayutas) by a laser weapon, then had one of her hands/ arms salted off, and was then buried by collapsing debris.  Even if she somehow teleported out, I don't see how she can have lived

Yes, I think she's dead but maybe we will see her again not in Earwa but at the Outside as some kind of cute Ciphrang.

I've been missing little parts like that a lot lately  :-[.  Thanks!!

You're welcome, and don't worry, it's easy to miss things in a book such as TUC. :) I know there are probably many bits and pieces I missed too.

I've been missing little parts like that a lot lately  :-[.  Thanks!!

Me too. And the book is so dense, man, that I really need to read it again.

Its what happens when you read this books in one, or a few, sittings, reading as fast as possible :P .

It was the "meat", the meat (of the book) drove us mad. The more you eat the more you hunger.

The Unholy Consult / Re: [TUC SPOILERS] The Carapace & The No-God
« on: July 24, 2017, 08:31:38 am »
What do you think about that this new or renewed Carapace has no chorae?
Obviously it was prepared for Kellhus, so for me that means that some way the soul or even the person inside the Carapace is still alive but trapped.
And it has another implication, without chorae in it, maybe is vulnerable to sorcery.
