A common theory is that chanv is wizard salt. I remember there were some passages that vaguely supported that.

Speculation: The gut-punch in the end is going to be Esmenet dying. Kellhus will probably live until the end of the Unholy Consult, at least.

Question: What the heck was that Kellhus in The Outside fragment? What was the deal with the head on the pole?
