I am currently readoing Children of Time by Tchaikovsky. It feels very Hamilton at the moment but a lot more tight knit and woven.

Recently read Nivens Ringworld and Aldiss Non-Stop and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them.

Trying to get more time to get online and to read a bit more as work has been insane over the last year or so.

Hope the TSA crowd are all doing well and avoiding the blood greased eternal damnation that awaits us all.

Looks like I have some TSTSNBN catching up to do!

Ok, so I finished this a week or so, been wandering around the threads a bit and gathering my thoughts.

Overall I thought this was a great conclusion to the Aspect Emperor and I will do a review for it, I think it deserves commercial success if only so we get another series and Bakker gets to write it. It didn't happen at all like I thought - I expected some sort of reckoning with the Judging Eye but I think that's part of the next series story now.

The dragon vs high ninja witch was awesome. The stamping foot and cracking a Horn was awesome. The whole battle and strategy was awesome and had me consulting the maps - which were also awesome. Awesome is a good adjective to describe this book.

I think Kellhus did indeed go mad, it was his very madness that allowed *him/Ajokli* to use Outside Will is Reality shenanigans for the old appearing heart flourish and probably from then on Kellhus was broken, at least just prior is when we first see him hear the voice of Ajokli.

However when *Cnaiur/Ajokli* couldn't see him I wondered how mad he actually was, mad enough to make himself a Decapitant in this world and a head on a Pole in the Outside fueled by Believers. It's an interesting subject, especially as we lost Kellhus PoV so early.

So it may be that Kellhus has protected as many souls as he can but I don't really think that, I think he was tricked and my heart is broken for it. I also think Kellhus is the reason that Ajokli sees more than the other gods.

Oh Bakker you are horrible.

Yeah it was on Graham Norton, just his whole bodyshape and the way he switched between poses. Really interesting to watch!

Jut like his potrayal of Gollum - non human movement.

Andy Serkis would be the best person I could think of to play a Sranc!

I really like the new styling. I agree with MSJ a slightly darker background would be better - I think it would make the whole site easier on the eyes in terms of strain.

Andy Serkis is an amazing body actor.

I watched an interview with him on and he was stood up and then he mimicked an ape and his whole body seemed to change when he did it, it was barely noticeable whilst at the same time making him appear completely different. It spurned me to do a bit of reading and Serkis seriously impressed me.

He is billed on Star Wars as well so hopefully has a hand in bringing to life Snoke.

I fully expect that "nice group of young men" Arya are with actually turn out to be a bunch of raping bastards or else Arya just kills them for being Lannisters - I really doubt that the scene is going to not develop further.

Hello All!

Well I have not been around for a while and will not be around until I have completed TUC.

It arrived at my local Waterstones (on order) yesterday and I will be collecting from store today, secluding myself away on pain of spoilers for now and then hopefully in the next week or so I will stop by in a more meaningful way. Super excited to be reading TUC!

Will post all of my other purchases and reads (not many) and update the year long curated read thread - although I am going to finish TUC before I set foot upon this Ground.

Hope to speak to you all soon!

Just placed my pre-order at Waterstones near where I live. They're not bringing into their general stock so special order only, trade paperback.

Hope you are all enjoying your reads so far. I will update the thread this evening.

For my part my mum took another turn for the worst so been struggling to find reading time between hospital visits.

Currently halfway through Abercrombies Best Served Cold (Really enjoying) and also reading Dawkins The God Delusion.

Hopeful to finish at least one before the end of this week.

Finished Vernor Vinge: A Fire Upon the Deep 1/25

This was a fantastic book, Vinge is effortless to read and the whole book seemed fresh and original, there are dozens of ideas here that Vinge could explore, but he manages to tread them all carefully and deftly, he then fails to answer burning questions about the series whilst simultaneously explaining the reasoning.

Really, really good book. Review for this one incoming.

Going to start another book tonight hopefully.
