So... (click to show/hide)1/4 into the book (or so), and he died. Who else is saddened by this? He was my favourite character in the second trilogy.

It wasn't even all that shocking, really. Just sad. I'll hold further comments until you're done. :-)
(click to show/hide)Maybe I missed it but how did he get all Whiteluck Creepy all of a sudden? I was reading pretty fast but it seems like he was his own person falling in love and getting from Serwe... then he switches to the creepy whiteluck narrative style.

(click to show/hide)I"m there with you. I was really feeling for Sorweel. Yatwer didn't care about any of the changes that he'd gone through, though, and just put him to work when the time appointed came round.
(click to show/hide)I take comfort, knowing that at least he mostly got what he wanted... which was, I guess, almost exclusively Serwa's love. And it seemed like Yatwer accepted him in some kind of embrace, perhaps implying that he went to heaven. That's more than what could be said for... I think literally every character in this series.

(click to show/hide)I irrationally dislike Sorweel so much, I was actually pleased he died, for my own sake too.Although I have a feeling that is not the last we will "see" of him...
(click to show/hide)Oh, I get what that's like, dude. But the book disappointed me in that regard. Out of the four characters that I liked, three were killed off in this book and one of them was taking on the No-God when last seen, so chances are...And out of the three characters I dislike, all three of them quite clearly survived.I don't see how we could see more of him, though.

(click to show/hide)ASoIaF taught me well to never really like any characters. I'd say I am ambivalent to about 95% of characters I read, and dislike about 4%, perhaps liking 1%. Obviously that is a rough estimate. But I am hard pressed to even recall the last character I read that I actually liked. That being said, I think we will see Kellhus and Sorweel again, Outside, looking in, perhaps. Or their own internecine battle in Hell.
