I should clarify...

I don't mean to say that I would buy airfare and accommodations for his family myself, I make good money but not that much. :)  But, perhaps we could crowd source the funds and I will would be willing to contribute to that.

I'm really, really bad at writing reviews so I typically end up just rating the books.  The only novel I wrote a "review" for was <i>The Darkness that Comes Before</i> and it was more like something you would use as a blurb on the book and not really a review.

It sounds like a great time was had. 

I really wanted to go and I feel bad that my inability to plan more than a day or two ahead got in the way of doing something that would have meant a lot to me.
