Currently re-reading Neuropath ... Came across this gem:

His books all float around the same concepts, which I imagine are his non-fiction writings (though I find them completely impenetrable). I think both Neuropath and Disciple of the Dog could be used partially as a cipher for somethings in TSA, and they certainly have easter eggs hidden throughout .

Specifically, and I've thought this in the past but it really hit home this time, the titular characters, the Neuropaths. It's like a meditation on spending extended time with a skin-spy. I can understand "Neil's" claim to be a 'neuronaut' but I think the book is named for Samantha.

Likewise, on a similar note, I feel like Disciple is an allegory of the Nonmen.

This book was great, I so loved how Bakker flushed the entire plot down the toilet, LOL! I mean, ok, these freaks were a con, but fuck, man - have SOMETHING of an interesting mystery about it, was a wild idea ... anything, like the cat drugs "travelers" of the frame with LSD so they have an experience, something - nope, it's all bullshit, LOL!

I think it's probably possible to suggest outright that Disciple does absolutely nothing to impact the resolution of his case.

Unless smoking crack counted for something.

Well, he does investigate which drives an outcome ( er, I think the end was a response to his nosing around - may have to re-read the ending, I forget what happened  )

If the end game of the Framers was deterred or modified by his interaction, then even if he didn't sport much discovery, he had an impact intentional or not. But I would agree, he could lay off fucking his secretary all the time and indulge more of his craft.
